Antonio on Scamacca
“He’s quality. But the problem is, he can’t play the way the gaffer plays. He needs players coming off him, you can see the ball comes into him, it sticks, he’s tidy, but for Moyes, you need to deal with scraps, be a fighter and that’s not him.”

All together now....Then why the hell did Moyes buy him?

So Antonio is saying Moyes sets the team up not to give any striker service.

Re: Antonio on Scamacca
bit unprofessional saying that.................. but he's only voicing what is obvious to everyone else.

feeding off scraps FFS.

Guess who might not start next Wednesday!

scratch that he will start as he says no other striker would put up with that crap

Re: Antonio on Scamacca
I have no trouble with Moyes nor the way the team plays - note Mich says 'deal with scraps' and 'be a fighter' just what I like to see and needed in the PL where you get nothing if you don't battle - but it does open up the question as to why DM bought him and he has to take some criticism for that. I didn't have everyone's enthusiasm for Scamacca as Italian forwards rarely chase and harry and that is obviously what we needed. We shouldn't lose much when we sell him though.

Antonio has always been a bit dense and shouldn’t be public when still
Playing for the club. However, it’s what we’ve all been saying. Same with Ings

Re: Antonio on Scamacca
What a fucking stupid thing to say in the public domain. For multiple reasons. On his podcast by any chance?

And yes it begs the question why the fuck did Moyes buy him or approve the signing? Because it makes zero fucking sense. You don;t buy that sort of player and expect to fundamentally change them to something they just aren't. That's what you buy a 5 or 10 million quid youngster for. Someone that has the qualities you need but needs polishing rather than a polished player who does not. It's like buying a centre back and telling him 'Great- you're a good player, now I just need you to grow three inches so you can play for me please.'

This really seems to tally up with the scenario that Moyes didn't want him, because no way will he seriously have looked at footage of Scamacca and thought he'd be able to do the Antonio job. Combined with the fact that's he's barely given him a chance to do anything. It reeks of a player he didn't want and can't be bothered to integrate just to prove a point to whoever did sanction the transfer.

If he DID sanction it, then he needs to go for being so idiotic with 30+ million quid.
If he DIDN'T, then he's essentially at fundamental odds with whoever did, and one of the two of them has to go because that's no way to run a football club. The 'other' is likely to be Sullivan, and he's not going anywhere, it seems. Although if he goes it's a dead cert Moyes won't be retained.

Antonio is, and always has been a selfish bellend.

well i for one thank antonio for pointing it out to the nine remaining west ham fans who aren't yet clued in to moyes's modus operandi and want to give him another season to attempt to torpedo the club.

Re: Antonio on Scamacca
It’s the same as most said when we signed him. At Sassuolo he had Berardi and Raspadori playing up top a lot closer to him, a lot relied on the link up play. What he’s done is bought another Haller, who we’ll probably flog to Milan and watch him flourish.

Still a stupid thing for Antonio to come out with though, but I imagine he’s doing his best to go into next season as Moyes first choice.

Good on Antonio.....just basically said the players are coached not to play football.....hopefully this means the players ignore the cunts shit set up for the final......

Welcome, everyone, to the Premier League in the 1990's

Pray tell, why are we the only team in the current PL who needs a striker to do that?

Yes, you can see the self interest oozing out of his words can't you. He might as well be auditioning for a job and saying 'back off' to everyone else.

Re: Antonio on Scamacca
apart from two converted wingers (mich/arnie), this has been the story for every striker that's ever played under the dour miserable jock cunt

Re: Antonio on Scamacca
And you can look at the shared physical characteristics of Arnie and Antonio to see exactly why they can play the role and no-one else can.

Big, strong, fast, direct and able to sprint for long distances after the ball, and in Arnie's case, finish well, too. If Bowen was bigger and stronger, 100% he'd be our first choice centre forward right now.

Might be an idea to put into players contracts in future that they can't do podcasts etc, especially if they are dim.

You'd think that dunce would worry about his own `mainly been' shit game this season... rather than a rival for his position.

Don't suppose there's any chance Scamacca can teach Antonio how to make the ball stick in the next 7 days is there?

Think that is the first time I have ever heard a professional player talking negatively in public about a team mate Whilst still playing for the same club

Re: Antonio on Scamacca
This would be hilarious, were it not such an other fucking shambles.

Before anything else, someone needs to tell this pillock to stop talking about the ins and outs of the fucking club.

Moreover, what is actually funny is how someone on here didn't think anyone was allowed to have an opinion on Moyes as no one on here has managed a pro club. Now you've got one of his favourites telling the world that the manager doesn't actually know what he's doing.
